The Second Edition of the International Competition for Young Tenors “The Voice of Kamen – Stara Zagora 2024 finished
The Gala Concert and award ceremony of the laureates of the International Competition for Young Tenors “The Voice Of Kamen” – Stara Zagora 2024 were held on 27 August – the birthday of the unforgettable Kamen Chanev.
An occasion to remember, to talk about him, to revive a particle of his spirit and dedication to the art of OPERA by sharing the talent of his younger successors. The touch with the sparkling freshness of the young talents filled in with captivating energy the hall of the Stara Zagora Opera. The seven finalists of the Competition performed together with the Orchestra of the Stara Zagora Opera under the baton of Maestro Jose Cura a diverse program, precisely selected by the Maestro and consulted with the jury. In a way that each of the tenors presents himself in the best possible way.
The head of the jury, the great Jose Cura introduced an additional regulation and together with the members of the jury decided to select the laureates after the performances of the finalists in the Gala Concert. During the minutes, while the jury gave their final votes, the spectators had the opportunity to enjoy the duet from the first act of Desdemona and Otello performed by Tanya Ivanova and Kamen Chanev, as well as the aria of Otello – the one that Kamen Chanev craved for, which unfortunately turned out to be the last.

The First Prize is awarded to ADAM WALASEK from Poland
The Second Prize goes to OLEG LANOVYI from the Ukraine
The Third Prize is for DONGHYUN KIM from South Korea
The Audience award of the audience of Stara Zagora wins ADAM WALASEK – the award and an honorary plate of the Stara Zagora Municipality were presented by Mrs Milena Zheleva – deputy mayor Culture and Tourism
Special prizes:
The prize of the Sofia Opera and Ballet for participation in a concert or an opera production in the season 2015/2026 goes to OLEG LANOVYI from the Ukraine
ADAMWALASEK wins two of the special prizes: the prize of the Plovdiv State Opera – participation in an opera production in the season 2024-2025 and the prize of the Wielki Theater – Lodz, Poland – participation in an opera production in the season 2024-2026
The prize of the Stara Zagora State Opera – participation in an opera production in the season 2014-2025 goes to ADRIAN DIMITRU – finalist and participant in the Gala Concert
The prize of the Razgrad Symphonic Orchestra – a concert with the finalist of the Competition ANDRII VOZIIAN from the Ukraine.
